WWDC 2010

Apple just got done with WWDC 2010, and it included a motherload of annoucements, here is a quick summary of the most important stuff (in my opinion):

New iPhone:

Same size 3.5" screen, resolution bumped up to 960x640, 326 ppi, uses IPS technology

"Retina Display" has 78% of the pixels on the iPad, 800:1 contrast ratio, 4x better than the 3GS. Developers don't have to re-size their applications, iPhone OS does it automatically.

iPhone is now powered by Apple A4 "system on a chip,"

Bigger battery, 40% more talk time, 7 hours talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing, 10 hours of video, 40 hours of music, 300 hours of standby time.

iPhone 4 has no harmful toxins, safe for enviroment and 100% recyclable

32GB of storage, quadband HSDPA/HSUPA

Capable of 7.2mbit down 5.8mbit up once carriers support that speed.

iPhone 4 has a Gyroscope now. Steve Jobs demonstrated a Jenga looking game as a demo for the Gyroscope. iPhone now has 6 sensors.

New camera, 5 megapixels, backside illuminated sensor, 5x digital zoom, photos demonstrated from the new camera looked remarkable. LED Flash now, records in 720p at 30 FPS, LED flash can stay on during video records. (Assuming this is used for low light video recording situations).

iPhone 4 has a front facing camera now.

iMovie is now an iPhone app, has almost all the same features as the desktop application, will be sold on the App Store for $4.99 USD.

Apple is renaming iPhone OS 4 to iOS 4.

Multitasking was demonstrated, nothing has changed from the developer preview as far as I know, Pandora was shown running in the background.

Goldmaster of iOS 4 will be available today.

Yes, I know that this summary does not include everything that was annouced, I only included the stuff that I thought was important from the keynote.
